"I am not fan of Windows 8 yet. This Toshiba Satellite C55-A5245 15.6 inch laptop is a deal at the price. Came with 4GB Ram. Opened the cover to look at the ram storage slots. There are 2 slots and only one is used with a single 4 GB Memory card. This laptop can expand up to 16 GB Ram.. Came loaded with Norton--I deleted it immediately and loaded Windows Essential Security which is fine and it is free. The satin black in trax horizon finish on this laptop is beautiful and somewhat like the Dell Matte finish that I have seen. So far, I am very pleased with this laptop." -By LARRY

"I got this to replace a touchscreen Windows 8.1 laptop that was making me crazy. I was surprised to find that except for the touchscreen interface, Windows 7 is otherwise very much like 8.1. I find this Toshiba to be more than adequate for my needs, so no complaints on the hardware. The only thing I found especially vexing was that it was very slow creating the recovery media. I used the Toshiba provided utility to make recovery disks (it seemed to prefer disks to a flash drive!), which took more than an hour. I also put a system image on a flash drive using Windows which took almost two hours (larger file, but still...). Contrast that with about 20 minutes on the aforementioned 8.1 HP laptop with virtually the same file size. The other odd thing is that when this Toshiba attempts to register itself, the Toshiba registration website declines to "take the call." -By WillieQ
